Dancing with the Stars (and Hillary)

Kristi Yamaguchi clearly danced the best throughout the season, she won most of the routines, got the highest scores, had the best technique and moves....but,

A woman had not won Dancing with the Stars since season 1.

The last 4 seasons - Men have won the trophy.

Kristi's main competitor was Jason Taylor. Well known, well loved, charming, handsome, younger, African-American football player who came up through the ranks and had a large fan base.

At the finale, many thought Jason would win. After all he had been a favorite of the judges and the fans.

But, alas - the final dance by Kristi Yamaguchi - THE TANGO- clinched it for her....

Finally - a woman won this competition!!! The voters got it right and chose the better dancer...

Let's just hope the Super Delegates get it right too!!!

This video (of Hillary dancing in Puerto Rico) should help them decide.....

I predict 3 more superdelegates will get it right (none / 0)

tomorrow.

Besides that, I've never watched DWTS, but I do enjoy Sam McCall. Haven't had the chance to see too much GH lately, but I'll try to catch up.

Re: diary hijack (none / 0)

Not at all. First sentence addressed the SD speculation. The second had to do with a character on GH played by (now I remember) Kelly Monaco, who was on DWTS in the first or second season. Both shows are on the same channel (ABC).

ot-embedding videos (2.00 / 1)

I think you can just go to you tube and copy the link right there by the video you want (under"embed)...then come here and just "paste" it in the comment.  something like this:

This is a wonderful video, showing HRC bright, ready, working hard, enjoying herself!

Re: Dancing with the Stars (and Hillary) (2.00 / 3)

Actually, since it's the professional dancer that always carries the celebrity, arguably they've picked "the woman" three out of those four years.

Total pwnage.

I'd mojo a hundred more times if I could.

Re: Honestly, I just can't handle reality TV. n/t (none / 0)

I've never watched a single show of reality TV ever, in my life- which I consider quite an accomplishment. So I'd give her a BILLION INFINITY GOOGOOPLEX +1 TO WHATEVER NUMBER YOU SAY mojo if I could.

HAH. Beat that.

Re: Honestly, I just can't handle reality TV. n/t (none / 0)

Ugh...so juvenile.

Clearly I gave the million mojo first, so my mojo means more than your mojo regardless of the actual number of mojo you've rewarded.

Plus, Johnny said your feet stink.

Beat THAT.

Hey, Bravo's Top Chef is pretty good.  Who doesn't like watching a few people with faux-hawks get into fights with each other when their food doesn't turn out well?

Me :)

Now, if the History channel were to come out with a reality show, I might just watch it.

Re: So I'm not the only person left in the US (none / 0)

Don't they have one?  I think it's called Human Weapon or something like that - two professional fighters travel the world, take a crash course in some region's brand of martial arts over a few days, then challenge an expert in that art to a real fight.

No, I'm not kidding.  One of my brothers loves it for its complete stupidity.

Isn't that on the travel channel?

If not, I've seen it advertised on the travel channel.

Nah, can't do it. (none / 0)

Although, I do watch Ninja Warrior sometimes. That show kicks a ridiculous amount of ass. I'm not even sure what kind of show it is, though... it isn't a game show -- I think it's a big deal tournament which happens to be televised. Oh well. I don't watch much TV to begin with -- CNN is about it. I'm kind of off MSNBC lately...

Not a bad diary, a little rancorous for my taste (on the "superdelegates get it right" bit, but remind me why we should take you seriously with comments like this:

the democrats are too FUCKING DUMB to see it.

Re: Unfortunately... (none / 0)

I'm glad to have your support, but might I suggest toning it down a bit? Sometimes you get a little over-eager going after Clinton supporters. I understand, I do, too, sometimes- but we both need to make sure we're respectful, too.

I appreciate the tone you took a few comments below, but you don't really have to bring this into this diary.

Re: Dancing with the Stars (and Hillary) (none / 0)

What's up with dancing and Puerto Rico?  Barack was doing his little be-bopping as well down there.

Certainly, the super-delegates should take their cue from Dancing with the Stars. (who actually watches that crap anyway?)

Re: Dancing with the Stars (and Hillary) (2.00 / 3)

For those who may not have watched Dancing with the Stars, here's a fun fact.

The judges gave Kristi a score of 90 and Jason a score of 81. Now that close race could have been overturned, but the voters went with who was ahead by the numbers and gave Kristi the win.

Let's hope the supers get it right just like Dancing with the Stars did and goes with who has the highest score in delegates for the win. ;)

Re: Dancing with the Stars (and Hillary) (none / 0)

Yes, seems to me that, in the Dancing with the Stars metaphor, Obama is Kristi while Clinton is Jason.

Focusing on the surface gender similarities to say that Kristi = Clinton and Jason = Obama ignores the deep similarities between Obama/Kristi.

Like Dancing With the Stars (1.00 / 0)

It's a family show and takes real skill to win, not just back stabbing and manipulation. With all the chaos in the world it's a great time to watch skilled ballroom dancers.
